Can't say i agree with the last review. Whilst the flowers may be more expensive than Tesco's the service is also better than Tesco's. If you buy milk from a farmer its more expensive than from Tesco's! Aldi's do some really cheap flowers!! My wife and I get very good service and are very happy and would recommend Mills.

Jenny Wren Weddings & Events

We vetted several wedding planners - for several reasons I was apprehensive about this concept - firstly the cost and whether it was worth the “extra” expense and secondly I was slightly nervous about the expertise and understanding that might be demonstrated for a gay (male) wedding. Jenny was our last “interview” and our first impressions were spot on, from the first time we met her, during the planning phase, and many months later during the day and evening events. She was highly experienced with bags of knowledge, passionate, professional, conscientious and also great fun. By the day of the event, I completely trusted Jenny to make the day run seamlessly and that is exactly what she did. She worked incredibly hard, made our guests feel so welcome and also took on the entire stress of various organisational issues completely - I am convinced a big part of the success of our wedding was in due to the contribution Jenny made in making sure our plans came to fruition - leaving us to really enjoy the day. She is warm, funny and attentive - she doesn’t mince her words and is straight talking - highlighting pitfalls and issues in an assertive but helpful and diplomatic way. On the day it felt like having a good friend helping us at every step and we actually really enjoyed having her around. We cannot recommend her highly enough and would be happy to give any personal reference to anyone thinking of hiring her. If you are doubting the extra expense, don’t - you won’t regret it. Thanks Jenny. You’re awesome! Dan & Matt

Jenny, was amazing. Our day, was made so special, so relaxing. All because Jenny spent quality time listening and understanding to what we were looking for. Her understanding and enthusiasm, was endless. Nothing was too much trouble, and everything was finished with her personal touch. Thank you so much Jenny. From The newly Mr & Mrs Eames

Tips - Caring for your flowers once they are delivered

Placing your flowers in vase half to two thirds full with lukewarm water, will help closed buds to start opening.

  • Be careful when un-wrapping a hand-tied bouquet as it is delivered in a water bubble to keep the flowers fresh.
  • Arranging your flowers in cold water should be avoided as this can reduce the their life in the vase.
  • Avoid puting flowers in metal or aluminium containers - glass is ideal. Keep your flowers in a cool location, away from draughts, direct heat or sunlight. Arrange once unwrapped
  • Your flowers may take up to 24 hours after being placed in water to reach their full potential.
  • Strip off all excess foliage and leaves below the water level to reduce any harmful bacteria within the water.
  • Bacteria can block the stem and stop the flowers taking up the water.unwrap. Flowers like their stems trimmed. So, trim them, at an angle with a knife (rather than scissors) by an inch or so. When trimming stems, always cut at an angle of roughly 45degrees; this increases the surface area allowing your flowers to absorb more water.
  • If a Rose starts to droop at the head, re-cut the stem, wrap the head in paper to support it upright and plunge 5cms of the stem into boiling water for about 30seconds. Cut the stem again and place in deep cold water for two hours.trim

Most orders are accompanied by a sachet of cut flower food which will encourage buds to open and help to prolong the life and beauty of your flowers. Top up regularly with water and flower food, removing any fading flowers. Ensure the floristry foam used in arrangements is moist and topped up daily; this helps to prolong the life and vibrancy of your arrangements.
